| Cristina Mendoza is a traditional Amazonian curandera who is well-versed in the ethnobotany of her jungle and mountain regions of Northern Peru. She currently is engaged in a reforestation campaign in her home area in Northwestern Peru, teaching children and adults from several continents as well as nearby community members about the importance of sustaining native plants,trees, and ecosystems. The Art of Union would like to announce an invitation to join us here at the Diamante Verde Sanctuary for the 3rd annual Evolutionary Equinox Retreat from March 20-27. We at the Art of Union have been weaving the web between the sacred practices of yoga, conscious living, plant medicine and sacred shamanism for several years, and this year we are honored to offer an opportunity to bring this to the next level. Through a divine kin-nection that Tenasi made while in Colombia at the Sacred Fire of Itzatchilatlan Vision Quest Ceremony (please see Tenasi's blog) we will be hosting Santiago Andrade, an Equadorian Curandero, and Diana Rico, his assistant for an eight day healing and purification journey fusing amazonian plant medicines, yoga, temeskals (sweat lodges), conscious living, live foods, and community harmonizing skills .
